The Powers That Be of Khazan... who hasn't heard of them? Anyone who's been in Khazan for a decent amount of time would at least some impression of these enigmatic and supremely powerful beings. Strange thing is, while many people have heard of them, and occasionally talked about them, The Powers That Be remain elusive. Till now, no one knows WHO exactly comprise The Powers That Be - not the KPD or the SLJ, not the Khazan Government's intelligence branch - the Core Intelligence Agency(CIA!), not KOMBG or Dollarcorp... heck; even we, The Powers That Are Yet to Be have only very limited knowledge on them... and we're supposed to be their disciples, even though we seldom get to meet our mentors in person. Actually, there is no proper name yet to define the disciples of The Powers That Be, and The Powers That Are Yet to Be is just a fancy name we thought up of by ourselves, it's not "official", so to say. My name is Tiara, one of The Powers That Are Yet to Be. Like the rest of The Powers That Are Yet to Be, I have almost no idea of who my mentors are, and what are their intentions. The first and ONLY time I actually met members of The Powers That Be face to face was when they first took me in... that was thousands of years ago, when I was still a freshman at the Khazan Academy of Magic. Back then, in the folly brought about by their own pride, a particular batch of seniors caused the entire Khazan Academy of Magic to be consumed by the forces of entropy. Somehow, of all the people, I was the only survivor of this cataclysmic accident. (The Khazan Academy of Magic has long since been rebuilt, though hardly anyone remembers the OLD Khazan Academy of Magic...) This was when I met THEM, The Powers That Be, or so I believe; shortly after the entropy had done its work reducing the old Khazan Academy of Magic to nothingness, and I was just standing there staring into space; a mysterious man in blue and a lady in red... they appeared before me, surrounded by an aura of mystery that invoked combined feelings of fear and reverence within me. All they said was that I possess a "special talent", and would someday become one of them. But who or what exactly do they mean by "Them"? That was the only time I met up with the supposed "Powers That Be"(actually, I can't be too sure if they're really Powers That Be... since those two NEVER said a single word about the Powers That Be... they still give me the shivers), after augmenting my powers, which made me effectively immortal, they disappeared - POOF! gone, just like that... and I spent the next several millenia in self-cultivation, training to reaccquaint myself with my augmented abilities; they left me notes every couple of centuries or so, but we've yet to meet. Over the millenia, I've met several people who are just like me; mortals who claim to have met similar mysterious entites, who chose them for their "special talents", and they've also spent milleniums to develop their abilities. It is said that we would one day rise up in equal status to The Powers that Be, and hence our nickname "The Powers That Are Yet to Be"; for when the appointed time comes, we too will become The Powers That Be, but for now... we wait. Nobody knows when this appointed time will come, if it does arrive that is. But I intend to find out; last I heard of my mentors' whereabouts is that they are in the Age of Champions, Khazan's all-too-famous Omniversal gladiatorial contest. What better place in all existence do I begin my search, than The Nexus of All Realities? Perhaps with a bit of luck I might meet up with some of the so-called Powers that Be, and at the same time just see for myself how far my abilities have progressed as a Power That Is Yet to Be...

Personality: Me? I never stay still, and being caught in a routine tends to bore me *yawn*... I'm constantly looking for something new and exciting; be it to challenge established conventions(let's be more radical, shall we?), learning something new, or just probing into the infinite mysteries of the Omniverse(yeah, I'm a curious one...). At least my search for the Powers That Be is going to be something that'll keep me occupied for a while... until I get bored again, that is.

Taming the Tempest

     Weather Control: Ultimate

  • Area Affect

This was what I used to do best back while I was in the old Khazan Academy of Magic - I was then a weather mage in-training, and hence calling upon the forces of nature is what I do best, nothing impressive compared to my seniors back then, but still okay; at least I passed my tests. Then so-called Powers That Be came, and gave me a couple of augmentations. Now my weather magic is fully on par with that of the best weather mages in my time... I'm surprised with what I can do now, and it'd probably put El Nino to shame... Turning a heatwave into a blizzard with a snap of my fingers? Sure thing! Transforming a light breeze into the raging North Wind? Uh-huh... I could go on to tell you all the things I've done, and what else I'm capable of, but that'll take too long. But one word of precaution: Make sure you've got your arctic gear at ready whenever I'm in action, cuz' cold weather happens to be my specialty...

Snowglobe Personified

     Matter Animation: Supreme

  • Ranged Attack Only
  • Area Affect
  • Ranged and Melee Attack

I've spent the past millenia mastering my abilities, and now I have complete control of weather magic at my fingertips. Where the original ability was only capable of manipulating the weather around me for a 30-foot radius, my mastery over it however has allowed me to control my weather magic's sphere of influence at will, shaping it in almost any way I fancy. Whether it's to create a small pocket of atmospheric disturbances, or sending forth a snowstorm over Khazan City, it's all part of my specialty. From something no bigger than an automobile-sized rain cloud hovering beside me, to a rain of 100-pound hailstones over the Khazan arena, to a full-scale snowstorm, complete with gale force winds covering half of uptown Khazan during a summer's day(hee hee, Christmas comes early to this neighbourhood, if so I desire)... and more; makes the whole arena look like the inside of a snowglobe, if you ask me. Couldn't ask for anything less from someone who'd one day become one of the Powers That Be, right?

An Extension of Self

     Necromancer: Supreme

Not exactly a friend, this faithful companion of mine is more of an extension of my psyche, a creation of pure will that coexists with me in this physical realm than what you'd normally call a follower. We are same, yet different. Though we possess our own bodies and minds, we have the same spirit... we are one, and we are inseperable, with our fates closely intertwined. And his name is...

"Neva"

     Necromancer: Supreme

  • Target Seeker

Which means "Snow", and he is the extension of my psyche. When dark clouds fill the sky and snow starts falling, Neva appears, taking the form of an oriental-style dragon of living ice, measuring 70 feet from the tip of his nose to the end of his tail. Truly exquisite, as his scales and fangs of ice glimmer with the slightest bit of light, and his translucent serpentine form streaks through the snowy skies, gracefully riding along the chill winds. His body of ice approaches temperatures of absolute zero, making his claws, scales and fangs hard as diamonds - and would cleave through most substances with relative ease. I may be physically weak, but Neva is strong. I play my part by creating the environmental conditions that favour him, and he does his part by engaging in the direct physical combat I am incapable of; together we make a team. Beautiful and deadly, just the way I liked it...

Empathic Bond

     Communicate with Animals: Standard

This is what keeps Neva and I together... an empathic bond that exists between us allows me to communicate with him and vice-versa without the need for words. There are no secrets between us, and I know everything Neva knows, and he also possesses all of my knowledge. It is also the presence of this empathic bond that allows me to speak to animals just like how Neva can, since he is in all respect, an animal spirit. Occasionally some of the friendlier creatures would give us a warning about a potential threat they've noticed... but most of the time it's just chit-chat.

Terrain Familiarity: Frozen Wastes

     Terrain Familiarity: Standard

Neva and I are at our best where there are freezing conditions, reduced mobility and lots of snow and ice. The frozen wastes of Khazan are a good example; while most are hindered the subzero temperatures and permafrost, or lost in the perpetual blizzards, it is these very conditions makes us feel right at home. No location on the frozen wastes is a secret to me or Neva, no one can remain hidden for long, and we likewise know of every single vantage point there, navigating the terrain with ease. Using my abilities, I could create similar conditions to that of the frozen wastes, no matter where we are. While it is not as effective as being on the authentic frozen wastes, it helps nevertheless. Where there are freezing conditions and permafrost that hinders mobility, we have a knack for finding our way around, and this improves our chances...

Riding the Winds

     Flight: Superior

  • Weakness: Not usable in terrain - Steel Cage

Yes... I figured that if I had the ability to control the elements to achieve a variety of effects, surely this same ability could do something as simple as to allow me to move around with ease. By summoning forth a mighty gust of wind, I can sail through the air along with it, soaring above the streets and wilderness of Khazan and potentially keeping out of trouble in my search for the Powers That Be. Though it is hardly of any use in a cramped place like the Steel Cage; since I can't get anywhere in there with this ability, so no point using it while I'm there.
