Smoke Screen
Smoke Screen: Ultimate
Soliss used to tell me that I had control over the universal principle of nothingness. Soliss was an idiot. Practitioners of powerful magic always oversimplify and mislabel everything in an attempt to sound wise and philosophical. They can't even explain their own thoughts without a lot of self-contradictory doublespeak. Soliss was always babbling about places that don't exist and events that can't happen. Not that those idiot researchers were any better. The technicians were constantly talking about the placebolic stasis nodes conflicting with the static placebo field and blah, blah, blah. Not one of them ever managed to tell me where this stuff comes from or why I'm the one who gets to be in charge of it. It just happens. I can make this negative distortion barrier. As far as I know, it's this... bubble where stuff gets all messed up. Light, sound, motion, everything gets all jumbly, and anyone caught inside can't tell who from whatfor. My favorite name for it was always "total sensory depravation," because that one actually makes sense and sounds kinda cool.
Psychic Vampire
Psychic Vampire: Superior
Take away light and sound and stuff and people start freaking out. They're usually pretty good at first, they step back and try to get their bearings. Then after that doesn't work they tend to lose their balance and fall over. Some remain calm and try to think through the situation. Most of 'em just start gasping really hard, like they can't find any air. The hysteria and everything just sorta feeds upon itself I guess, and after a while, even the most rational minds are reduced to infantile blubbering. Ok, I'll admit it. I didn't come up with that "infantile blubbering" part on my own. I heard Trevor say it.

Sound, light and motion all go wonky inside the negative distortion barrier. (I hate saying it like that... "negative distortion barrier.") But with a little effort, I can spin them all around and inside out and upside down. I can even turn one into the other. It's like the international energy exchange bank in there sometimes. I always kept this part of it a secret, because I can just imagine what those jerks would try to get me to do if they found out about it. It's a pain to try and control it anyway. Usually I just play around and see what I can come up with.
Illusion Creation
Illusion Creation: Superior
I'm not a big fan of playing tricks on people, I guess because it's happened to me so much, but that doesn't mean I can't do it. Like I said before, it's kind of a pain to deal with it, but I can screw around with light and sound, and make all kinds of stuff come out. Once I made a really cool looking bat, and it flew around screeching and freaked a bunch of technicians out. I think Trevor knew it was me, but he never said anything.
Telekinesis
Telekinesis: Supreme
Light and sound are neat to play with, but motion is what gets stuff done. It isn't as much of a pain to deal with as light and sound, but I still get a headache after a while. The cool thing is, out in Khazan, I can use this all the time and nobody really cares. I was getting a soda the other day and some guy dumped his trash out his window right above my head. I stopped it and sent it all back up and into his window. I thought I might get in trouble but people started clapping and some lady offered to pay for my soda. I think I'm gonna like it here.
Spellcraft
Spellcraft: Superior
I'm getting pretty smart about how I use my powers. When you take all these kinds of energy, and put them all together just right, you can actually make real stuff. Messing with reality! I know you're saying "Wow, what a trip," but the truth of the matter is I'm not great at doing this yet. It takes so much time and concentration that it's not always convenient. I am practicing all the time, and I think that even a certain bitchy vampire I used to know would be impressed by how far I've come. I know Trevor would. God I miss him.
