An avid patriot living in the now-defunct USSR, Piotr Bogdanov was renowned as a near unstoppable KGB agent, succeeding in the most difficult secret missions against the capitalist powers. He was informed of a top secret project called Operation Tesla, which was supposed to finally upend the stalemate of the cold war. The Soviet Union had decided to break the nuclear stalemate of the Cold War, and to do so it would need an army of elite, warriors who could topple the more powerful capitalist nations before they had a chance to retaliate with a nuclear strike. Naturally, Piotr jumped at the opportunity to serve his motherland, and he volunteered to serve as the prototype for this new breed of soldier. He was shipped into the heart of an underground Siberian research facility. For three months the scientists and doctors worked to make the necessary changes to his body. He was transformed from a talented secret agent into a nine foot, eleven hundred pound juggernaut. Piotr was allowed to keep his human emotions, which allowed for judgement calls on the battlefield, but he was far too valuable to the Soviet Union to allow him to not have a leash of sorts. All of Piotr's memories were wiped clean, except for the knowledge of his past missions, and machines were wired to his brain that could kill him instantly should his commanders will it. The mental changes, however, were not nearly as drastic as the physical. His brain was placed into a nutrient tank and embedded into his chest, the most heavily armored region of his body. His organs, now useless, were removed and replaced with machines that would manufacture fuel and ammunition out of the waste generated by the nuclear fission reactor that replaced his heart. Needless to say, the operation was a success, but it took another ten months to conduct the required field and combat tests. It was unfortunate for both Piotr and the research team that by this time, there was no USSR to send their findings to. The entire Soviet empire had collapsed, and because their work was so top secret, nobody had even known to tell them.

We have discovered the truth, our beloved homeland has fallen. We have broken the news to "Nikolai" as carefully as possible, and he seems to have sunk into a state of extreme depression, understandable considering what he gave up to serve his now-defunct homeland. All of the researchers here, myself included, truly pity him now, we have caught him attempting to kill himself several times, once we even found a note in his quarters reading "I do this for my dead mother Russia." surrounded by hundreds of broken razor blades. We aren't even able to keep any bullets in the entire base because he has wasted every round trying to penetrate his armor. I consider it a supreme stroke of luck that he has gone into a suicidal depression rather than a murderous rampage over his "failure" to defend his country. With any luck we should be able to convince him that all is not lost, but I can't figure out for the life of me how. - found written into the back cover of the Head Developer's log.

Missile Array

     Concussive Attack: Supreme

  • Ranged Attack Only
  • Area Affect
  • Multi-Attacks

Six missile launchers are to be mounted in the subject's chest plate, ammunition supplied by internal factories that we installed in place of lungs. The installation is a complete success. (forward two months) Field combat simulations are a resounding success! The effectiveness of the missile array surpasses our expectations. Well defended targets are destroyed nearly 100 % of the time, and since our subject cannot run out of ammunition, he simply continues to bombard a more durable target until nothing remains. - Head Developer's log -page 40

Made of Metal

     Armor Skin: Ultimate

In my opinion this really shows our government's dedication to winning this "cold" war. I must admit that I relish the opportunity to really get my creativity out with the subject's body. We alternated layers of kevlar mesh with titanium plates, fifteen inches thick in places, and even threw in a splash of what the other scientists have taken to calling "alloy X". What I could find out about it seems to indicate that it is extraterrestrial in origin, and has the unique ability to diffuse any non-kinetic energy that is fired at it. We wired this alloy to a system that allows our subject to store some of this energy and send it through the armor, giving a nasty shock to any assailant in direct contact. - Head Developer's log - page 33

Friggin' Chaingun Arms!

     Projectile Attack: Superior

  • Ranged Attack Only
  • Multi-Attacks

After three long months we have completed the final weapons system. It consists of a chaingun mounted directly into each hand, the subject can lock his wrists into a "palms forward" position and fire away. The ammo is fed into the guns by way of an ammunition manufacturing machine placed in each shoulder, allowing the subject to fire a withering barrage of bullets at a whim. (Forward one month) As expected, the field combat tests are a complete success, the subject can continuously fire due to his unlimited ammunition supply and his large frame allows him complete mobility even while firing, or even to fire all of his available weapons at the same time to completely devastate any attacker. It should be noted, however, that his large frame offers him less mobility to begin with. - Head Developer's Log - page 45

Rend and Tear

     Natural Weaponry: Superior

We have come across a rather difficult quandry. It seems as if our subject is completely unstoppable in long range combat or, more specifically, against a large force of well equipped soldiers. After reviewing our combat tests we realised that in spite of being nigh-invulnerable due to the armor, a single opponent with superior skills or enhanced abilities, we do, after all, live in the age of the superman, might be able to defeat this soldier. However, it was impossible to alter the weapons so as to allow effective melee combat without compromising the ranged superiority of the original design. The solution we finally came to was somewhat surprising considering the advanced technology we were dealing with. We basically strapped knives to our subject's armor. We replaced the fingertips with incredibly sharp blades, and attached diamond-sharp blades to the feet, knees and elbows. These blades, coupled with the subjects vastly superior knowledge of close combat make him an incredibly dangerous force on the battlefield. I can now say that the subject's modifications have been completed to the best of our abilities, and no further improvement can be made upon the design at this time. - Head Developer's log - Page 61
