"I have seen him. He's real I tell you! REAL!" The man shouted at the cell guard.

"Alright, I believe you, he's real okay? Now shut up and pipe down before I decide to add my nightstick to your nightmarish delusions." The security guard said as he bit into a bagel.

"You just don't get it, got to get out, got to get out now we have no time, we have got to get OUT!" He said with a slam against the bars of his cell as the shadows increased inside the tiny space.

The guard went to hush him up when he heard a gargled scream come from the man's cell. He walked closer to find the man's hands still attached to the bars of the prison cell.

"What the hell?!" He cringed as he opened the cell up to reveal a shadow disappear from the room before he could get a good look at it.

"HEY are you okay!?" He ran to the cellmate who was already dead and found a book.

Inside the book the security guard found sections of writing pertaining to a man said to possess both a physical body and an astral body that has said to have lived for over ten thousand years. He dropped the book out of what he called boredom, but he was actually scared to death as the legend might hold some truth after what he had seen in that cell. He proceeded to examine the man's corpse more thoroughly to try and find anything else that might help determine what caused him to die.

"BOO!" A man said as he walked up behind the already spooked guard.

"AAAAAHHH!" He screamed as he turned around and punched his partner in the nose for being an jerk. "Don't do that. I have enough problems already." He said as he looked down at the body again.

"Whoa, what happened here Jim?" The guards friend asked with suspicion. Jim shook his head.

"I don't really know myself. The guy went crazy and then when I went to check on him after he screamed he was like this." The other man said nothing as Jim turned around to find his friend was missing something.

"AAA..AAAA.......!" He tried to scream but was too frightened by the fact that his friend was now twitching headless in front of him before falling to the ground.

Jim ran for the main office of the prison and found the secretary dead as well, which only furthered his heart pounding experience.

"I have got to find out what's going on here!" He said as he ran towards the warden's office, hoping to find some clues as to why his co-workers were dieing left and right.

"Sir! Sir, some weird stuff is going on and peo...ple are......dieing....." He said as his words were stopped by the horror of seeing the wardens body or pieces of it slung all over the room in a twisted artwork of death.

The man fell to his knees, eyes twitching and heart racing as he let out a fearful yell as a man in red dropped down in front of him.

"Are you afraid?" The man in red asked. Jim looked up and stared into the mans glowing red eyes, as if he were looking into a flame.

"I am terrified. Did you do all of this?" Jim asked expecting what was about to happen to be his last moments of life.

"That depends on what you mean by "what I did or didn't do." He said with a smirk. Jim felt a rush of painfully obvious indications that he should run go through his mind, but he wasn't able to move.

"If you are afraid of what lurks in the shadows, why not become the shadows?" Jim listened to the man's words and felt that they had some sense to them.

"How, would I do that?" The man in red smiled and laughed as the shadows began to quiver with fear as if they were afraid of the man standing before them.

"That's easy, you have to die to become one with the shadows. But are you willing to pay that price for the exchange?" He said as the shadows all over the room seemed to run in different directions out of fear.

Jim looked at the bloody mess all over the walls again and gulped. He took his last breathe of the living and nodded his head with quick resolve and closed his eyes. As the man in red laughed and slashed him in two the lights in the room went out slowly, blocking out the carnage of what was taking place. Out of the room, came a changed version of the red dressed man. He was the same, yet not the same and had Jim's eyes to boot.

"My body is now complete again. I shall fulfill my purpose as my Empress's shadow and bring death to all who oppose her once more."

He laughed and as he did so the lights in the entire building blew and all the darkness in the prison was sucked up by him. Jim's body had been completely consumed by Jin La'Muerte, Embodiment of Death and Darkness.

Your Shadow Is Your Enemy

     Phasing: superior (rank 2)

The moon that night was bright and beautiful, the perfect setting for one such as him. He emerged from the shadows of the tree and pulled two people into it with him. As the silence went on, the shadow began to change color. The black started to turn brighter and more metallic. The blood of the people was what it was, seeping through the shadows as a blood covered man emerged from the shadow once more and walked off into the night.

"Shadows, not the best place to hang around at night. Especially the shadows at a cemetery." He laughed out loud as the night seemed to tremble at his cackle.

The Master Of Death

     Regeneration: superior (rank 2)

Jin found himself being thrown into the fires of a large furnace.

"Let's see him come back from that." Max said as he went back to his brother Kevin.

"Yeah bro, we got rid of him. Finally we can get down to business."

Kevin began to walk off as a shadow from the flames of the furnace flickered as if something were coming out. Max saw it too and turned around, in shock.

"NO, NO NO NO!" He yelled as they both watched as Jin came back out of the furnace, on fire and slowly regenerating his body as he laughed an evil laugh.

"How is it possible........we shot him, ground him into paste, threw him into a compressor even........and even a furnace can't kill him!?" Kevin yelled as he watched Jin continue to regenerate before his eyes, which wouldn't be working for much longer as he and his brother would soon be dead.

The Nine Gates Of Hell

     Transformation: standard (rank 1)

Jin would become riddled with a problematic situation as he was caught in a fight with a hero of justice.

"Your reign of horror ends here demon." The hero claimed as he shot a beam of light from his eyes, which stung Jin's body and made him cringe in pain. He laughed at the hero as he gave him an appropriate response.

"For you, I will show you something that I hardly ever show anyone else. I hope you thoroughly enjoy this." His eyes glowed and his body started to turn into shadows starting from his feet all the way up to his head as he laughed.

The hero looked around as Jin had vanished, only to find him in the form of a black cloud of multiple ghouls and dark illusions. His eyes grew wide as it would be too late to stop the gigantic pair of gnashing teeth from chomping down on him.

The Eater Of Shadows And Darkness

     Psychic Vampire: standard (rank 1)

His powers were weakening, his strength fading. Not a problem though as he would stumble across what would soon be an all you can eat buffet of darkness, as the sunset and the moon rose. The light of the moon was euphoric as he drew all the darkness and the shadows around him into himself, as if his body were feasting on them. As he did so the shadows shook with fear as they were consumed as if they were alive and somehow feared his presence. He laughed as he enjoyed his meal.

"What a wonderful night it is. It's as if the Goddess herself is feeding me her strength." He said as he finished his midnight snack and vanished into the shadow of the night itself.
