Help and Frequently Asked Questions

What are Teams, Kits and Sectors?

You select a team to be in when you create your character. There are Six Teams:

  • The Sentinels - Hero team devoted to Liberty and Justice in the Captain America / Superman tradition. Highly visible supergroup.
  • The Fallen - A Villain team of dark, over-the-top, megalomaniacal type characters in the Dr. Doom / Lex Luthor mold. Generally considered to inhabit a hellish black tower somewhere in Khazan.
  • The Reavers - Hero team of the vigilante type which uses full force to stop crime in the Punisher / Batman tradition.
  • The Syndicate - A Villain team of the organized crime, mafia type characters in the Kingpin / Joker type mold. They have decentralized hideouts throughout Khazan City.
  • Freelance Villains - unaffiliated bad guys of various types.
  • Solo Heroes - unaffiliated good guys of various types.

You should choose a team to be in that fits your character concept.

You select a sector to be in when you create your character. There are Four Sectors:

  • Uptown - High class ritzy area of Khazan City.
  • Lowtown - Slums and back alleys of Khazan City.
  • Industrial - The corporate, business and manufacturing area of Khazan City.
  • Science - The clean research parks and recreation areas of Khazan City.

You should choose a sector to be in that fits your character concept.

You select a Kit to be in when you create your character. There is a HUGE difference between Kits and Sectors or Teams. Team and Sector identification is mostly superficial, but when you select your Kit that will determine how your character's Powers and Abilities will be created. You'll see this for yourself in the Character Creator. There are Nine Kits:

  • Olympian - High on personal stats (agility, strength, etc) Lower on powers.
  • Overlord - Weak on personal stats (agility, strength, etc) Heavy on powers.
  • Entity - geared towards energy powers.
  • Avatar - geared towards divine / holy powers.
  • Senshi - geared towards fighting powers.
  • Cyberware - geared towards items.
  • Gadgeteer - geared towards technology powers.
  • Sorcerer - geared towards magical powers.
  • Mentalist - geared towards Psi powers.
  • Everyman - broad choice of options, no advantages or disadvantages.

You should choose a Kit to be in that fits your character concept.

NOTE: The Everyman kit allows you to really tailor your character. It is the most complex way to build a character. It is the only Kit which allows you to buy down powers by taking Power-Specific disadvantages.
