FPL Core Gaming Concept
So... what is the FPL?
First... a little history:
The FPL concept was proposed on the Comic Book Universe Battles site by HexxJo sometime in 1999 where it was decided that
it would be cool if, besides voting on well known Comic Book Hero battles if people could create their own characters and vote to see who was
was the better character. So this site was made.
So, basically, it boils down to you creating a character, that character being thrown into matches against other characters, and the FPL players voting on
which character would win the battle.
But not really.
The philosophical question is why do people vote for a character. Is it because one character has better powers? Because one character has a better concept? Better writing with more detail? The picture
for the character?
It's all these. It's the total package. The journey of a character from the Lower division all the way up the ladder to the Main Event is a very hard road.
Many characters do not survive. Perhaps your first few will not until you get the hang of the Total Package. The FPL creators are very discriminating. Many have been playing on this site for four or more years
and are not easily impressed.
But if you make it all the way you will feel you have really created something special.
The Core Rules:
All registered FPL players get One vote on any given match
A Character wins a match by getting more votes than the opposing character
If your character loses 3 fights (that is, lost the vote on 3 fights) then the
character is removed automatically from the FPL by the FPL program.
- If your character loses any single fight by a 3:1 vote margin, the character is
Fatalatied and removed automatically from the FPL by the FPL program.
If your character Wins 5 fights it will go to the Elimination Rounds.
At 9 wins it will (probably) go to the Main Event
That's it in a nutshell
