Four Years. Four Years she had been working with Moose. In those four years they had pulled off twice as many jobs like this and an innumerable amount of smaller ones. By now they were professionals, if not the very best. Midge didn't give a damn. To Midge, this was fun. More fun than a party. More fun than a concert. This was what Midge 'Squirrel' Fey lived for. This-[Squirrel!] It was Moose. "Did you find it?" [No!] Not good. [It's not here.] Can't get worse. [This whole thing is a -- Setup. I'm trapped in the vault.] Spoke too soon. [ I need an exit, FAST!] O.K. Squirrel, keep your cool. "Hold on, I need to find the most secure path to your location." She brought up the Indsec Schematics. [Screw secrecy. It's a setup. We're blown. Get me out of this thing, now!" Well, there went that Idea. "Give me ten minutes." [Seven.] "Deal." With that Midge jumped off of the roof she had been sitting on and onto an oncoming Bus. Now all she had to do was get down to the BWL building before Moose got too impatient, that means she had Five minutes to work with. She looked out at the darkened street from her vantage point. This was gonna be a long night.

Who? That was the only question running through her mind while she booted up and logged on. Midge was never a suspicious person but when it came to being set up it was hard not to be a bit paranoid. It could have possibly been somebody in BWL itself, but if it was somebody in the up and ups they wouldn't have let them proceed this far. Unless they were after the thing themselves and needed a scapegoat. That would almost make sense. Security? Nobody smart enough. One of the Lab guys? Possibly. Who knew, and they wouldn't be able to find out if they got caught. Best to keep a cool head... Ah, logged in.

[Username:] Squirrel_ [Accepted. Password:] *******_ [Accepted. Welcome User to Glamournet.] Midge stared off with blank eyes from atop the Metrobus. Staring into a Computer screen that was not there, but was. Hands folded in her lap as her mind did all the typing. Midge pulled up Indsec Maps, BWL Schematics, Bus Routes, everything and anything. Midge always prepared for the big jobs by completely wiping her home system and loading it with only the essentials. Bingo! Midge snapped out of her Cybertrance and jumped off the bus, heading west.

Dragonfly Wings

     Flight: Standard

  • Weakness: Power in Item - Hard to Lose

Midge hung for a second, and then light shimmered from her back. Blue light. Reflected light. There was a whine as her wings buzzed about their business. Sometimes it was good to have wings. Sure they were small and pretty damn fragile but there'd been quite a few times when they'd damn near saved her skin. Those times were quite a while ago, but they had still happened. Now, they were happening again. But this time they were a hundred times worse. They'd been set up... and she planned on finding out who'd done it. "Moose." [Yeah?] "You still there." [No, I went out to get a Late.] "Ok, Be there in two."

What Lock?

     Telekinesis: Standard

Now'adays Moose was usualy the only one who ever actually pulled off the jobs. She was technical support. There had been a time, however, when they first started when they would both do jobs together. That had stopped... what... a year and a half ago? No matter. Gladly she could still pull off her old tricks. She was a bit rusty but... She walked up to the Back Gate of the BWL building. There stood a small gate with a large chain on it. The area around her was bricked up. This had once been an alley but wasn't even that any more. Midge looked at the Lock on the chain. Stared at it. Glared at it even. Ten seconds later there was a click and the Lock opened. Easy as Pi.

What Sec System?

     Phasing: Standard

Now came the hard part. Security was tight right now. Schematics and SimProgs showed that in Fifteen seconds there would be a hole in the Security Cameras recordings for about two minutes as they reset themselves. That would be her chance to get in. Sure Moose had said screw secrecy, but hell if she wanted her face on the security tapes. The only problem after that would be actually getting down to Moose. Course, she could always twink-out and go THROUGH the building, but that always hurt like hell... damnit, this wasn't the time to worry about pain Squirrel! Just Do it! Midge walked through the wall.

Never Hurts

     Tactician: Standard

Plan ahead. Plan often. That was Midge's motto. Next to 'Technology, no place for wimps.' but that was beside the point. Normally she had a contingency plan, but Moose had said screw that. Not that it would have helped, it hadn't included being set up. You have to stay cool and focused in the face of adversity or adversity would never accept you as it's own.... A minute later she was standing in front of the Main Vault. "Moose, I'm at the Vault. I need some Info." [Like what?] "What happened when it closed up?" [Mmm, Hydraulic sound. Door Slamming. Like it was resetting.] "Damn." [What?] "Stand back." She knew what she had to do...

Blowout

     Magnetism: Supreme

  • Ranged Attack Only
  • Target Seeker
  • Ranged and Melee Attack

Midge took off her gloves and put them in her pocket. She rubbed her hands together and took a step back. The air filled with the smell of ozone. a blue light crackled between her fingertips. The only way to open a magnetically sealed door is to set off an EMP of reverse polarity nearby. She hated doing this. There was a low, muffled 'Pfooom' and an expanding bubble of blue light. Every metal bolt. Every plate. Shook. Every wire and silicon chip shuddered and died. Iron twisted. Steel bent. The bubble died. The Vault door fell down. The sound of sirens could be heard coming from the outside. Moose looked at Squirrel and Squirrel looked at Moose."Split up?" She asked. "Yes. You go high. I'll go low." Midge blinked, turned, and rose through the walls of the building on gossamer wings, shortly reaching the anonymous freedom of the night-time skies. She did not look back. They'd meet up again eventualy.... hopefully.
