Everyday, when the clock strikes 4 in the afternoon, kids all over Khazan suddenly drop whatever it is they're doing, to the relief of their terminally harried mothers (and some domestically inclined fathers as well). It's that time of day when the children all sit down in front of their television sets (or in the case of lowtown children, peek through the window of a kid fortunate enough to have a TV) and watch with so much focus, you'd swear they're on some behavior-altering drug. Their eyes widen and their lips curve into smiles as the screen starts showing them the quaint little garden setting they've grown so familiar with. The camera moves towards a small table with one chair beside it, on top of it a tea set. Then she finally walks in on the scene - the nice, pretty lady in the blue dress and her two fairy companions fluttering behind her. She sits down delicately, closes her eyes and breathes in a hefty amount of that cool garden air. "Hello there" she greets them, "I'm so glad to see you again! Yna and Ora are happy to see you as well." Ora, the green sprite, was pouring her some tea, while the red sprite Yna, who had disappeared for moment, was floating back carrying with her little blue book and handing it the lady. "Thank you Yna. Well kids, shall we begin with today's tale?" She pauses for a couple of seconds - a nice interactive touch for her audience – and begins to flip through the pages of the blue book. ~Today, just like any other, she doesn't have a story set in mind to tell the children. That mused look on her face as she's rubbing her chin is not the result of good acting. That book she is reading from - a prettied up notebook from a nearby dollar store. Truth is, Khazan's most popular kid's show host Myrna Rae runs the most improvised, do-it-yourself gig on television. On a whim, she tells the children the story's setting – a pirate ship. She snaps her fingers and incredible changes begin to happen around her. The green bermuda grass under her turn brown, then flatten and become wooden tiles. The number of oak trees scattered all over the garden start writhing as they turn into towering masts, their branches and creeping vines becoming a complex network of yards, booms and rigging. A few barrels pop out of nowhere as the sounds of an angry sea are suddenly heard. ~Now, on what seems like the ship's deck, Myrna Rae sits, comfortably sipping her tea. "Well children..." she starts talking. "Our story today is about a young boy, a lowly servant living with his pirate lords, yet one whose dreams are as wide as the seven seas..."

Myrna Rae Oleander is her full name. A known success story to most, but considered a failure by her own kin. Born to a clan of powerful mentalists whose members from an early age are already taught the basics of psychic warfare, Myrna's wide-eyed daydreaming ways quickly branded her as an anomaly. While others were mastering the art of subverting a person's mental will, Myrna quickly mastered the telekinetic art of um, choreographing her dolls to do an act from Riverdance.

Illusion Creation

     Illusion Creation: Supreme

  • Auto-Hit Attack
  • Area Affect

It is hard to depart from your childhood fantasies, especially once you've found a way to make them real. This was the dilemma the trainers had with Myrna Rae; how do you create a cold and calculating psionic warrior with a mind preoccupied with unicorns and elves? You flush those things out of her head that's how. Show her as much violent imagery she can handle without passing out. What!? Golden butterflies still coming out her closet? Okay, isolate her; leave her in dark room for a week - that ought to drain the sunshine out of her. What do you mean she had amusement park in there? ~It seemed her powers grew stronger in that unwanted direction with each ordeal she went through. In the end, they gave up, tired and exhausted...yup, a giant fuzzy dinosaur can do that to you.

Telepathy

     Telepathy: Superior

As a telepath, Myrna was a natural, certainly because she had the gift first of all, but really, it was her keenly observant nature that augmented her powers from the start. What she couldn't tell from probing someone's mind, she could decipher in the person's eyes. And what she saw in the eyes of those around her was a hunger for power so insatiable, she could not imagine herself being a part of their pursuits. Once she was old enough, Myrna left home and tried to find her own niche in life.

Telekinesis

     Telekinesis: Standard

In Khazan, a super-powered being with no affiliation is like someone who failed a certification exam. You can attempt to practice your profession but people will always regard your skills with an eye of suspicion. And so Myrna, with her lack of experience and connections outside of her family, soon found herself living the harsh life of a street rat in lowtown. Not that making her living as shameless telemarketer before was any better. But even in this condition, the dreamer in her was never defeated. With only her dolls and a few improvised props, she would stage a daily show in her little dilapidated street corner. People in their mundane routine of walking these streets would have their days brightened by a miniature southern belle curtsying in front of them, wishing them a nice day. Or by a soldier and his maiden doing a graceful waltz. Oh sure there was the occasional grouch who'd carelessly step on her little performers, but to most it was more than welcome gesture.

Emotion Control

     Emotion Control: Standard

It came to a point where Myrna was attracting a daily crowd. No longer was she just another faceless lowlife in this squalid place. Like little babies they would come to her at the end of each rough day, 'cause well, she was always there, willing and ready to entertain. There was one little kid that was consistently there everyday. So enamored was he by this street performer that he brought his dad, a bigwig TV executive, to come and see her one of her shows. The dad found it whimsically amusing these little toy figures as they acted out these timeless fables, but he more so noticed the charm of the narrator. She had a quirky, lively air about her that just made this one of the most pleasurable viewing experiences he's had in a long time. So this TV executive, who just this morning was making plans to develop a reality series called "Necromania: Life of a Death Fetishist", was seriously contemplating giving this nobody her break with her own show. ~So once she received his business card, Myrna Rae's life would soon drastically change. Of course, she's had to endure the inconvenience of wrapping her head around the intricacies of her contract, and even had to prove her worth to a bunch of bratty, uptown kids, but in the end, getting to share her vision to the world was all well worth it.

Induced Sleep

"And he saw the pirate ship sink to the murky bottom, with riches of kings hidden inside it's hull."~And with that, Myrna closes the book as she is again surrounded by the familiar surroundings of the garden. There's a smiling sun setting down in the horizon and sweet calming music plays in the background. Myrna then accompanies it with a short and hushed lullaby.~"Goodbye. Farewell. See you another day. My friends, I have truly enjoyed your stay. When the sun comes down into the arms of night, dream away the day, lay your head, sleep tight."
